Crown Lengthening

Crown lengthening procedure is performed to make the crown of the teeth longer. It is used for different reasons:

• To access the sound tooth structure where caries has spread under the gum before crown placement
• To make the crown longer where we need more retention before crown placement
• To show more of the teeth where there is a gummy smile
• To harmonize gingival line for aesthetic reasons
