Pocket Reduction Surgery

Pocket reduction osseous surgery is performed to reduce the periodontal pockets around teeth where the periodontal pathogenic bacteria live and grow. This procedure has been used as the gold standard surgery for treating moderate to severe forms of periodontitis. Bone graft, guided tissue regeneration, and biologic materials that enhance bone formation can be used in conjunction to osseous surgery to treat periodontal disease and gain bone regeneration.
