Our office is equipped with latest in technology including different digital radiography sensors.
Dental cone beam computed tomography (CT) is a three dimensional type of x-ray machine used when regular two-dimensional dental x-ray machines are not sufficient. Your doctor may recommend this technology to produce three-dimensional (3-D) images of your teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways and bone for better diagnosis and treatment planning.
We currently have a CT scan machine (Planmeca Promax 3D classic) at our office for your convenience. We can take digital tomographic images of the entire jaw in a short period of time and give you more information about the bone anatomy and health of your teeth. Our CT scan machine has a special feature that can provide diagnostic images with Ultra low dose radiation when needed. We can take images of a small section of the jaw or the entire jaws based on needed images and provide diagnostic information. We use CT scan machine images to find root cracks, tooth and bone pathologies and to plan for future implant placement.
Our machine takes Panormaic and extraoral bitewings images as well. This feature is great for people with gag reflex and or people with a small mouth. The radiation dosage is very small with this machine which is a safe diagnostic tool.
We have Dexis digital intraoral sensors at the office too. The digital radiography has enabled us to take fast quality images with minimal radiation to the patient. The amount of radiation with digital radiograph is much less than the regular x-rays.
We can email the digital images to you and the different dentists involved in your treatment in a matter of seconds. These images can be stored for a long time and they do not fade and or lose their diagnostic quality over time. Our staff is well trained in taking the safe quality images with digital radiography. If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant please let our staff know so we can provide you with the safest option. Radiation can harm your unborn baby.
We are proud to be able to provide you with high quality care and the latest technology.
