Socket Preservation

Tooth extraction can be a simple extraction and/or a surgical extraction that requires gum elevation and suturing. The bone resorbes after the tooth extraction, and bone grafting is performed to preserve the bone for future implant placement and/or regenerate the bone that is already gone due to infection. This procedure is called socket preservation. Different types of bone grafts and membranes have been used effectively to keep the bone height and thickness for future implant placement.
